About Me

ks-bigMy proficiency and technique of teaching is based on studies at the Pedagogical Faculty of the Charles University in Prague.
My teaching style and approach to teaching is mainly inspired by Critical thinking as it is  coming with two basic questions: “what is the best way to really achieve understanding” and “what is practical and useful”.

I have obtained experience and developed my teaching skills thanks to teaching at grammar and high schools and many methodical seminars during my studies and later in UJOP UK ( The Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies Prague)
My experience extends from one-to-one teaching to teaching groups of up to 15 persons from total beginners to advanced. My way of teaching is based on the principles of communicative methods and active learning,  it is my priority to teach Czech aimed on communication skills while taking a stimulative and patient approach and considering the individual needs of the students.

I believe my lessons to be enjoyable, interesting, relaxed and useful.

The principles of my tutoring are:  ACTIVE LEARNING- NATURAL AND LIVELY WAY-REAL LIFE-STUDENT FOCUS

  • Together we define your goals and find the best way for you to improve
  • You get the basic instrument for speaking in lively and natural way, I present grammar in context so that students can see and understand how it works and how to use it
  • My teaching style concentrates on real life situations, presenting grammar in texts and dialogues and putting old knowledge into new contexts
  • I concentrate on each individual student’s expectations, needs and motivation in developing the best way for them to learn and improve.

I studied at the Pedagogical Faculty of the Charles University in Prague (Czech language, Literature and Music at grammar and high school). I have been attending the Conservatory in Teplice from 2005 to 2010. Regarding Czech for foreigners I attended  NPK Course  organised by CIC (The Centre for integration of Foreigners Prague) and The Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies Prague which helped me to develop skill of multi-level teaching.

I have been teaching Czech for foreigners from 2006 (private tutoring), in 2007 for Monster Worldwide Prague, in 2008 I started teaching in  The Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies/ the Intensive Language Course for CIEE and the The Czech Language and Culture Summer Course, later  the semester, evening and individual courses.
