It was quite an interesting experience to teach this group of 7 people (China, Vietnam, Philippines, Mexico, US and United Kingdom) as they were all keen to learn Czech but their learning styles, preferences, goals and chance to practice Czech in a real life were different. Also the “starting point” and the level were not the same. My goal was to go through the basic grammar and to show the students how to really use it while speaking so that everyone would be able to speak and understand better. I tried to show the students that the ability to formulate simple questions , to know the basic useful verbs plus prepositions and to understand how to use them in the sentence are essential in comparison to the proclaimed Czech declination system (e.g. in the “Step by step” book). The textbook: “Easy Czech”.

Český lekce s Kristynou byly velmy dobrý a užitežný za žívot v Česky Republicce. Czech lessons with Kristyna were very good and useful for life in the Czech Republic. It’s really as she’s says above. Kristyna’s goal to gives us the tools to speak Czech outside the classroom were at par with my goal to be able to speak the language with locals. The best part about working with her and UJOP was that they place you in a class with a perfect match to your level of the language, and you come out of the course able to use everything you learned in real-life situations in Prague. Thank you, Kristynko! Moc děkuju vám za vyborný lekce! Till next time!
